Schein, Executive Director, Protestant German Institute of Archaeology, Jerusalem. The Tribe of Dan originally was north of Judah and below Ephraim. Eventually, the Tribe of Dan was pushed up to its present site. [Genesis 49:17] “Dan shall be a serpent in the way, a viper by the path, that bites the horse’s heels, so that his rider falls backwards.” In May 1977.
